Hey Everyone, Here is a new house mix. This is a good picture of what is rocking for me at my nights in Toronto right now. I created the House life series as a promotional tool for my Toronto audience at the moment. I put these compilations on cd's and give it out at the clubs that I play at. I put a list on my last post if your interested in coming out. Just drop me a line and I will put you on the list. You will notice a lot of mash ups and remixes of pop tracks and classic house. It is interesting but not for everybody. Hope you like it and enjoy the vibe. Cyruss P.S. For all the soulful heads out there, I know it has been a hot second since my last soulful house mix but don't worry, I have not forgotten you. The next episode will be a soulful house mix. It will be up in a week or 2. The House Life vol. 2

Hey Everyone, Hope you have been doing well. Here is a new mix. Something a little different again. For all my old school followers out there who remember me from back 97-2002 era, I was really big on Chicago bumpy house. Well, I thought I would revist the style in some of my sets, since everytime I hear it, I still want to get up and dance. I remember foundly staying up all night at Industry night club in Toronto listening to the likes of Derrick Carter, Mak Farina, Sneak etc... You can still even hear the bumpiness (is that a word) in some of my productions. Anyway, enough talk, below is te tracklisting hope you like it. Go Bump vol.1
1. Emotional – Dj Bang

Hey Everyone,

Hey Everybody, I know it has been awhile since the last one. If it is not problems with the studio desktop computer, then it is problems with the laptop. Hopefully this will be worth the wait. Since I have been going soulful for the last 3 mixes, I thought I would try something a little different. Phunky Noizes was a series of mixes I use to do back in the day to experiment new sounds and styles. I thought I would bring it back. Although this mix might not seem so cutting edge, give it some time to evolve. I am sure that we will see a good progression. Hope you enjoy! Cyruss Phunky Noizes vol. 18

Hey Everyone, I know it has been awhile since the last mix. Lately, things have been very hectic for me, as a result of a busy dj schedule and some technical difficulties in the studio. Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy this latest installment. Rest assured you will see an increase in consistency in the pod casts. My goal is to provoke thought and inspiration at the same time. I think it was about time someone mentioned something about the recent trend in urban music. If you have noticed lately, there is an increasing amount of urban singles that sound more like soulful House music. In 2006 Defected Records released a mix compilation called Urban House. It was a reflection of a growing movement in the UK where urban night clubs were increasing the amount of House music being played along with Hip Hop and R&B. The type of House music that was played was soulful, carried vocals over 4/4 beats and tough basslines. Fast track a year or two and we have a new trend in the U.S. American R&B and Hip Hop artists and producers are creating music for the clubs with a 4/4 beat at a minimum of 110 bpm. The tracks are laced with synths and drum beats, which are not as good as seasoned House producers. On a regular club night in Toronto, you are guaranteed to hear an urban set with the likes of Kanye West, Timbaland, Neo, Chris Brown, Flo-Rida, Rhianna etc… at 110-130 BPM. House has always been considered cutting edge and 2 steps ahead of the game. It is evident, especially when you see American Urban artists inspired by the music we love and try to imitate it with watered down versions. In a recent interview with Neo, he mentioned that his latest tracks were inspired by his visit to the U.K and the U.K dance scene. He wanted to put his own take on the music, thus his latest production for Chris Brown and his own track Closer. This mix is a testament to the tracks that have inspired this recent trend in urban music. However, if you listen carefully or are already familiar with the tracks, they are much higher quality, production wise, than their urban “inspired” tracks. At the end of the day, it has been proven that House music does have a place in the top 40, but it should be better represented by the inspiring artists instead of the inspired. Cyruss Sanchez

Hey Everyone, Here is another mix on the mores soulful deep side of house. Originally I wanted to do a classic cutz edition but ended up just leting the vibe flow based on how I started the set. I have a lot of ideas for upcoming sets for you all. A classic cuts series that I mentioned earlier, some harder progressive and electro stuff and popular electro house stuff that I have now coined electro-pop. I have been geting alot of requests to post previous Mi Casa Hot mixes so I am going to go deep in the vault of my hard drive and put one up every now and then. In the mean time, enjoy the set. Hopefully it will take most of you back to after hours parties back in the late 90's early 2000... Thanks again for the support. Cyruss Mi Casa Hot 9.2

Podcast SummaryAll types of House music. Soulful, deep, progressive, electro, themed shows for the true house head! Looking at past and present trends in House music. About CyrussCyruss Sanchez begun his musical journey at the tender age of 9 while vacationing in the Philippines with his family. During fiesta time there are block parties to celebrate the birthdays of patron saints. At one of these dances Cyruss was intrigued by the DJ playing 45' records and mixing songs back and forth. By age 13, Cyruss was building up his music collection, persuaded his parents to purchase him a sound system with 2, 1200 turntables and a mixer. Cyruss took his show on the road, playing house parties, birthdays, weddings etc. By 16 Cyruss was throwing underground hall parties in church basements and spaces for rent under the TDSP name. While throwing these jams Cyruss befriended the owners of Brighter Days entertainment and the rest is history. Cyruss Sanchez is Brighter Days Entertainment longest running resident dj. With his debut in the summer of 1997's Get Lifted Fridays inside the Power Bar he quickly became a crowd favorite. His flawless mixing and his on the fly remixes has been rocking BDE dance floors for years. Mostly known for his extensive knowledge in House music, he has won the praise and respect of his peers in the Toronto House music community. Cyruss has held residencies inside Toronto's most renowned night spots including; The Guvernment, Joker, Power Bar, Jet, Industry, Atlantis, Life, NV, and most recently Pearl Lounge. He has shared the stage with world class House music talent such as: Dj Sneak, Mark Farina, Yousef, Groove Armada, Dj Dove, Roy Davis jr. Kenny Hawks, Dj Emily, Jason Hodges and 83 West. Cyruss, Kendall Marin and Robin Eccelston founded Mi Casa records in 2003. Kendall and Robin have been studio partners since there early days in high school. As a natural progression Cyruss wanted to get into production and remixing while djing, to further his music career. Kendall and Robin brought Cyruss in under there wings and created the The Wisemen production team in 2000. While having a difficult time finding an outlet for there music they set up Mi Casa records in 2003. The mission of this label is to, firstly, unify all genres of dance music as once enjoyed by many listeners around the world during the inception of House Music. Secondly, to contribute towards underground music's continuing battle to be recognized as the sound of tomorrow. Lastly, to provide House Music with the past due commercial respect it deserves. The Mi Casa Records' sound is simple. This label will put out potential House anthems and hits. Cyruss' priority is to take the The Wisemen and Mi Casa records to the next level, signing new arttists and to continue developing his carrer as a producer, remixer, dj, and label owner.
